My name is Christina Ward but I go by Cat. It’s a nickname I picked up at Clemson University, where I was enrolled for two years as a Biotechnological Engineering Major. Family situations forced my withdrawal from there, so now I’m at UCF, after a bit of a hiatus from school that is. When I started back at UCF it was as an Industrial Engineering major, but I soon found that while I love engineering I hate business so I changed to a Forensic Science major. I then learned that you cannot get a forensic science degree from UCF and work full-time, and, brokenheartedly, changed my major to Criminal Justice, a degree I should graduate with in the Spring of 2006. I’m also pursuing the new certificate offering in crime-scene investigation and an anthropology minor. I don't know what I'm going to do with myself when I get done, but I'm really hoping to cut up dead people one of these days.
I am a 5'5", currently red-headed (that changes all the time so that might be outdated), practicing Wiccan. I am employed by Siemens Westinghouse Power Corporation, and also run a small pet sitting business on the side.
I was born in 1977 in Pittsburgh, PA, but moved to Orlando when I was four years old. I’ve been down here ever since.
I have custody of my “little” brother. He’s just graduated high school and is starting at Valencia this fall, so I have another college bill to pay for! I also take care of my 93-year-old grandmother (or she takes care of me, not sure which). She’s such a wealth of information and stories, I really love it. I also run a small pet-sitting business on the side. I have about 20 regular clients, most of whom I’ve been sitting several years for.
I have a virtual menagerie at my house, which includes 3 cats (Pookie, Isis, and Mum's Boy), 2 dogs (Scruffy and Monster), a turtle (Ugly), and aquariums full of fish to rival Sea World (my little bro is really into fish, they are really all his).
In my spare time (*laugh*, like I have any of that!) I love to build things and do home improvements with my ever-growing collection of power tools. I also play clarinet and piano, though I don’t have much time left for either of those, and would love to learn to play guitar one of these days.
I enjoy going to rock concerts and out to Pleasure Island. My Music interests are varied (you’ll find everything from Beethoven to Marilyn Manson in my collection) but I generally prefer hard edge rock. You’ll usually find me listening to stuff like Slipknot, Mushroomhead, Fear Factory, Mudvayne, etc. While I prefer this hard-rock style, I grew up in downtown Orlando with very urban influences, so I was extremely pleased when Linkin Park melded the two into a great sound (card-carrying LPU member)! Rammstein is an awesome hard rock band from Germany that I listen to a ton, but my favorite band is Type O Negative (Peter Steele is a god, just check out his Playgirl centerfold and other nakedness). Lately I’ve been on this 80s/90s kick, though, and have found myself singing along with Bon Jovi and the Scorpions in my car. ("Whoa, we're halfway there...")
One of these days I hope to move to Las Vegas. It’s hard to explain my draw there, but it’s a combination of the weather, the closeness to so many things (hiking, L.A., etc), and the fact that it never closes. There is always something to do in Vegas. Maybe it’s because I’m still young-ish, but I appreciate that there is something to go do at 3:00 in the morning. Someday...
